CSA Art Class New Offering - The European Painting

Dear All,

CSA "The European Painting" class is offered from 4:00 to 4:55 by CSA art teacher Kasey Walko.

This class is a beginner's course designed to teach students the basics of European-style painting. Students will learn how to mix colors by painting subjects such as still-lifes and landscapes.This class will be taught with acrylic paint. The materials are listed below.

Celebrate Chinese Moon Festival - Moon Cake on Sunday, the 14th, Sunday School and Next Week for After-School

Dear CSA Families,

In celebrating the Chinese Moon Festival (Zhong qiu jie - 中秋节) on the Monday, September 8th, we will have our school tradition of distributing Chinese Moon-cake during the coming Sunday's school session. On the 14th, our language teachers will tell about the Mid-Autumn Festival traditions.

CSA Chess Class - Update

Deal All,

This semester our chess teacher Steve Wu will continue to lead the chess class. Steve served as a volunteer in Franklin Elementary School Chess Club in North Andover and is a Chess Merit Badge Counselor for the Boy Scouts of America.

The ability to "present" well can be a significant benefit in anyone’s personal and professional life. Good presentations can provide opportunities for growth in self power, control, recognition, and prestige.

Details about "Competition Math and Problem Solving Club" on Sunday Program

Dear All,

The leading instructor is Dr. Dili Zhang together with a recent college Physics major graduate and a licensed MA teacher, Tommy Yang.
This course focuses on mathematical problem solving skills. Learn and put into practice skills that are useful in school and in competitions such as Mathcounts and AMC.

The class will be targeted towards students of the middle school level but will accept 5th graders for advanced Math training.

Sept. 7th - 1st Day of 2014-2015 Sunday Program School Year, Starting at 1:30 PM at the Pike School

Dear CSA Families and Friends,

Hope everyone has had a fun and relaxed summer break! of course not at the cost of our students' Chinese language skills :-).

As we are approaching Sunday, the 7th, our 1st day of new school year, we would like to remind all a few things for the school opening day:

1. Class hours:
Starting from this semester, we move up the start time to 1:30 PM.
Chinese language classes: 1:30 PM - 3:05 PM
Cultural Classes: Each culture class session lasts 50 minutes
3:10 PM - 4:00 PM 1st session

CSA is Participating Andover Day, on this Saturday, September 6

Dear all,

On this coming Saturday, the 6th, CSA is joining hundreds of organizations and participating the Andover Day in downtown Andover, one of the largest community annual event in Andover. The event start from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

CSA will host various events such as Introduction of Chinese Language, Chinese Calligraphy demo, and information sessions for CSA Sunday and Afters School programs. CSA Souvenirs will be given away to visitors. In addition, we welcome CSA families to bring their Chinese crafts or small Chinese cultural products for sale at out booth.

CSA Tai Chi Chuan Class - Update

Dear All,

Going forward, Instructor Sharon will offer two Tai Chi class sessions in CSA Sunday school: 2:00 PM -3:00 PM and 3:30 PM- 4:30 PM.

There will be a dedicated quite room for the class. Please stop by the registration table in the cafeteria for the details on the coming Sunday.

Dear all,

We will have an "Admission to Elite Universities" seminar on June 15 from 2:00-3:30 pm at the Pike cafeteria. The speaker is Mr. Leonardo Radomile from Cambridge Learning Center.

Leonardo has graduate degrees from the University of Chicago and Harvard University. He has served on a Harvard admissions committee and taught in curricular program at the Harvard Kennedy School. Leonardo has also been winner of multiple teaching awards including a Harvard Club Award. His area of specialization is SAT Verbal Skills.
